Signing Up

How do I make an account with Comics, Games, and Things?

There are two ways to make an account with Comics, Games, and Things.

The primary way is to simply access the "Sign Up" page by clicking the "Login" button in the upper right-hand menu of Comics, Games, and Things. You will be asked to enter your email address, username, and create a password. In order to link a Patreon or Kickstarter account with your Comics, Games, and Things account, make sure to use the same email address for both accounts.

You can also make an account using your Patreon information by signing in to Comics, Games, and Things through Patreon. Select the "Patreon" link on the "Login" page and input your Patreon information. This will create a Comics, Games, and Things account which is linked to your Patreon automatically.

Do I need a Patreon account to sign up with Comics, Games, and Things?

You do not need a Patreon account to purchase individual digital files or physical products from retail or artist partners on Comics, Games, and Things.

As of May 2022, subscriptions to digital artists are done only through Patreon. Becoming a patron on Patreon allows you to access monthly releases through a subscription model.

Does it cost anything to make an account with Comics, Games, and Things?

Making an account with Comics, Games, and Things is completely free.

Digital Files

On-Site Subscriptions

Can I subscribe to an artist through Comics, Games, and Things?

As of May 2022, you must create a Patreon account and become a patron of an artist in order to subscribe to them. However, on-site subscriptions through Comics, Games, and Things are in development.

Account Access

Do I need a Comics, Games, and Things account to access digital files?

In order to download files or make digital purchases of any kind, you will need to be signed in with a Comics, Games, and Things account.

Why do I need to make a Comics, Games, and Things account when I am already a Patron on Patreon?

If you are a patron of a digital artist on Patreon, you need to sign up for a Comics, Games, and Things account and link it to your Patreon account in order to access their files through Comics, Games, and Things. This is because our system is separate from Patreon and requires your account information to track which files you have access to.

How long after making a Patreon pledge can I expect to gain access to my files?

There is typically a four hour delay while the system updates your pledge information. If you still cannot access your files after three hours, check to make sure that your Comics, Games, and Things account uses the same email address as your Patreon account at the Account Email page.

If your pledge is still not listed on your Pledge page after this time, please contact customer support via email or on our Discord Server.

Will I lose access to my files at the end of the month?

Comics, Games, and Things is a permanent files distribution service. You will be able to access your files through your Downloads page indefinitely. You do not need to download them during the month of release, and your access never expires.

Will I get a patron discount in the Comics, Games, and Things store?

Patron discounts are controlled by each individual artist partner. If an artist offers a patron discount, its information will be visible on their partner page. Patron discounts are applied to your account automatically if the website recognizes you as an active patron, meaning you have a pledge for the current month in the Comics, Games, and Things system.

How do I access my Kickstarter files?

If you backed a Kickstarter that uses CG&T as its distribution method, you will need to create or log in to a CG&T account with the same email as your Kickstarter account (at the time that you backed the Kickstarter). Navigate to your Downloads page and click the "Check for New Items" button at the top of the page. This will check for any Kickstarter files your account should have access to.

Downloads

How do I find my files to download?

In order to access your downloads, make sure you are signed in to your Comics, Games, and Things account. You can navigate to your downloads in the upper right corner menu of Comics, Games, and Things, or by going to your Downloads page.

Why is my downloads page empty or missing the newest Patreon release?

In order to access your downloads, make sure you are signed into your CG&T account, and it is the correct account which uses the same email as your patreon account, or is the same account that you purchased the files with.

If you are logged in correctly, check to make sure any Patreon pledge information is in the system on your Pledge page. If your Pledge page does not list your current pledge after the initial import period, contact customer support via email or on our Discord Server.

If your pledge is listed correctly in the system but your downloads are not appearing, try the green "Refresh" button at the top of the downloads page. This will have the system double check what files you should have access to.

You can also check the Troubleshooting Downloads page for information on more common issues with downloads.

I bought a file, so why is it not appearing in my downloads?

If you purchased a file through CG&T, you should get access to the file automatically in your Downloads page. Check that the email your CG&T account uses is verified.

If you purchased the item using the "Pay at a Partner's Location" payment method, you will not gain access to the file until you complete payment for the product, either at a physical card reader, in cash, or through another method like PayPal. You should have received an order confirmation email with some information about this.

If you paid for your order online and the payment went through but the order did not complete and you cannot access the files, please contact customer support via email or on our Discord Server so we can fix the issue.

Why can't I download my files?

If you have access to files, but the files are not downloading correctly, please consult our Troubleshooting Downloads guide for a list of common download issues and how to fix them.

Retail

Do I need to have a CG&T account to purchase physical products?

Customers only need to be logged in to purchase digital products on CG&T. To purchase physical goods from a Retail Partner on the platform, simply add the items to your cart and check out. The checkout process will require an email for your order confirmation email, and a shipping address if you are having the order shipped to you.

Payment

Refunds

I was issued a refund, but I haven’t received it yet. How long will my refund take to process?

Refunds through the Stripe payment platform may take 5-10 days to show up in your account, depending on your bank’s processing time.

Payment Options

Are there plans to implement alternative payment options for the site, such as PayPal?

Implementing PayPal as a payment option is currently in development. Our current workaround for payment through PayPal is that you can submit an order online through ComicsGamesandThings.com and during the payment process select "Pay at a partner's location" and "Valhalla Hobby." That will send a copy of the order to our retail location, Valhalla Hobby. You can then send payment for the total of the order to [email protected] The staff at Valhalla Hobby can then receive that PayPal payment and mark the online order as paid, as though you had paid in cash at the store. The order will be marked as paid within 24 hours, and that will grant you access to the files.

What does "Pay in Person at the following store" mean?

On the CG&T website we refer to both our Digital Artists and the Retailers who sell on the platform as "Partners". "Pay in Person at the following store" refers to paying one of the CG&T partners directly, rather than paying for your order online. Currently, the only Partner which is set up this way is our retail store, Valhalla Hobby, which can accept payments in cash, through a card reader, or through PayPal at [email protected]

About CG&T

What does CG&T stand for?

CG&T stands for Comics, Games, and Things.

Is CG&T affiliated with CGTrader?

Comics, Games, and Things is not affiliated with CGTrader in any way. The acronyms being similar is a coincidence, and is why we do our best to include the & in our acronym at all times.

Why are you called Comics, Games, and Things?

Comics, Games, and Things aims to be an easy to use online marketplace for many different sellers in the hobby. Currently, the website acts as a digital fulfilment service and online store for many digital partners who make models for 3D printing. The website is also an online store for our own retail location, Valhalla Hobby. We hope in the future to help other comic, game, and hobby stores gain an online presence on our platform. Additionally, we would like to bring commission printers into the fold, where they can sell prints with clear communication and endorsement from the original artists.
